EXCLUSIVE: Fife family claim 'breakthrough' in son's death inquiry

Nearly seven years after a Fife man died in his flat in Lochgelly, his family are appealing for anyone who may have information about his death to come forward.

Colin Marr died from a stab wound to the chest in July 2007 after an altercation with his girlfriend.

His death was originally deemed to be suicide - but it is now classed as suspicious.

Colin's mother and stepfather - Margaret and Stuart Graham - have been working with the former head of Yorkshire CID Tony Whittle, to highlight mistakes allegedly made by the then Fife Police.

Stuart's telling us this is the first appeal for witnesses that's been made:

 

Mr Whittle says he can't go into much detail about what's described as a breakthrough in the case, but he's full of praise for the medics and uniformed officers who were first on the scene:
