Emotional scenes as squadron comes home

Members of 58 Squadron the Royal Air Force Regiment have spent a first night back at their Fife base after seven months in Afghanistan.

They were based at Camp Bastion protecting the airfield and the Medical Emergency Response team. The squadron touched down at RAF Leuchars yesterday evening - and will mark their return with a parade through St Andrews on the 10th of this month. Later this year the unit will be disbanded as the RAF relocates from Leuchars to Lossiemouth. Senior Aircraftman Kevin McDonald - a reservist from from Dundee - says excitement has been building over the past few days:
