An RNLI lifeguard on Elie beach in the East Neuk rescued a young boy who was in danger of drifting out to sea on Friday.
The youngster was in an inflatable boat and he struggled against the strength of the tide and offshore wind.
A video above shows a lifeguard paddling out on a rescue board.
He managed to help the boy return to shore.
The RNLI advise against bringing inflatables to the beach.
