Electric Cars Bound For Fife?

Experts to provide an insight into the facts about electric vehicles while exploring the benefits for drivers considering switching.

According to the Energy Saving Trust (EST), driving a car powered by electricity costs around 2-3p per mile compared to around 16p per mile for the average family car. There are also reported benefits to our health through improved air quality. A recent EST survey of electric car owners in Scotland found that:

• 95% of owners surveyed would recommend EVs to others

• 81% of owners include fuel cost savings as one of the main advantages of EVs,

• 60% see helping improve air quality as an advantage

• An average EV owner saves £1,400 each year on fuel

Greener Kirkcaldy is teaming up with the Energy Saving Trust for a special event in Kirkcaldy on Thursday 25 September 7pm to 8.30 pm at St Bryces Kirk on St Brycedale Ave in Kirkcaldy that will provide an insight into the facts about electric cars while exploring the benefits for drivers considering switching to an electric car.

Greener Kirkcaldy and the EST expect that local people and businesses interested in or considering investing in electric vehicles will have their questions answered as well as any concerns highlighted.

Fraser Nicol, from Greener Kirkcaldy, said:

"This event is a great opportunity to hear about and discuss the advantages in switching to an electric car especially from a driver who has made the switch and can inform others about their experiences"
