DWP "In Denial" Over Foodbank Use Rise

The Department of Work and Pensions is "in denial" about the cause of the increase in food bank use.

That's according to a new report by the Scottish Parliament's Welfare Reform Committee.

MSPs say welfare changes were a "significant cause" of a 400percent rise in demand between last year and the year before.

Tory MP Esther McVey has already said the claims are "unfounded", and the group's single Conservative MSP, Alex Johnstone, refused to put his name to the findings of the report.
