Dunfermline equality campaigner says Fife is more racially tolerant than elsewhere

An equality campaigner from Dunfermline says Fife is better than other places when it comes to racial tolerance.

But Sid Akbar, who has been campaigning against racism for 30 years, thinks it could be better in the Kingdom.

That said, he also does think Scotland is more tolerant than other countries.

Sid recently opened up in a local newspaper about his experiences of being racially abused over the years.

He thinks the difficulties he has had to face has helped motivate him in fighting bigotry.

Black Lives Matter demonstrators have taken to the streets in various places across Scotland and the world in recent weeks, following George Floyd's death in Minneapolis in the United States more than three weeks ago.

Nearly a fortnight ago, thousands gathered in Edinburgh and Glasgow to show support for action to tackle racism.

Last weekend, around 1,000 anti-racism protestors made their voices heard in Aberdeen.

There have also been protests in other cities around the UK.
