Drumhead Service At Edinburgh Castle To Mark WW1

A drumhead service is being held this morning (Sunday 9th August) at Edinburgh Castle to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War.

The Presiding Officer, the Rt Hon Tricia Marwick MSP will officially represent the Scottish Parliament during the commemorations.

The service will replicate those held on the frontline 100 years ago where neatly piled drums were used in place of an altar.
