Dylan Tackles Dealers In Levenmouth

Operation Dylan is responding to concerns about drug abuse in Levenmouth

One drug dealer is being arrested every week in Levenmouth.

That is according to the officer in charge of Operation Dylan, a police initiative responding to local problems.

Heroin with a street value of £1600 was recovered from a house in the Factory Road area of Buckhaven earlier this week. A 34 year-old man and a 26 year-old woman were subsequently arrested and charged and appeared from custody at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Sergeant Neil Johnson, who leads Operation Dylan, said:

"The local community have told us that drug crime is a particular concern for them and we will treat any information given to us by the public with the strictest confidence.

"The fight to remove drugs from our community continues and we are committed to working closely with our partners and the public to ensure that this operation is a success. I want to send a clear message to those involved in drug crime that they should seek help now to pursue an alternate lifestyle. Otherwise, it is likely that they can expect a visit from officers involved in Operation Dylan."

Anyone with any information about drug crime is advised to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
