Council Spending Revealed

Audit Scotland calls on local authorities to spend more wisely.

Scottish Councils are being urged to do more to save money and work more effectively.

An Audit Scotland report shows that local authorities spend more than £5 billion every year on goods and services, ranging from construction materials to IT.

That equates to around £1, 020 per workers.

Douglas Sinclair is Chair of the Accounts Commission and says it's not about bulk buying to save cash.
