Council parking fees suspended across Fife

All Fife Council parking charges at on-street locations and in public car parks are being suspended from today (Monday January 11).

The decision was taken by councillors in response to the latest lockdown restrictions, in an attempt to support key workers and communities.

The suspension of fees will remain in place until the measures are lifted by the Scottish Government.

Time-limited waiting at all locations is also being suspended in the region, allowing people to park for any length of time.

Other restrictions such as yellow lines, loading bays and disabled parking bays will continue to be enforced.

Councillor Altany Craik, Fife Council's transportation spokesperson, said: "Removing parking charges and time limited parking is a small thing we can do to help our key workers and communities at this time.

"It also helps reduce pressure on residents, particularly in town centres, where demand for parking has increased during this period.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of Fife’s key workers for the vital services they’re providing during this pandemic."

Blue badges that expired on January 1 this year will continue to be valid until February 28 in council parking places.
