Council meets to set budget

Job losses and cuts in services - the stark choices facing councillors in Fife as they meet to balance the books for the coming financial year.

A draft budget that went out to consultation at the end of last year proposed over £14 million of cuts, but some of these are expected to be amended or dropped altogether. Dave Dempsey is the Conservative group leader on Fife Council. He says the budget situation doesn't look as serious as in previous years:
