'Come clean' on indy costs, SNP urged

The SNP is being urged to 'come clean' with the set-up costs in the event of independence.

With just over 80 days to the referendum, the Scottish Conservatives say Alex Salmond must reveal the figures involved IF the Yes campaign wins in September.

They submitted over 50 Parliamentary Questions to the Scottish Government, demanding to know how much it will cost to create the 180 bodies the SNP accepts are needed under separation.

It comes after warnings from Patrick Dunleavey from the London School of Economics that the price tag could be as high as £1.5billion.

Meanwhile, Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced that the Scottish Government is to launch a major public information campaign ahead of the referendum on Scotland’s future.
