Collision Involving Cyclist And Off-Road Motorbike

Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a cyclist and an off-road motorbike in Kirkcaldy.

The incident happened around 4pm on Thursday 13th August when a 63-year-old man was riding his bicycle eastward on the track at the rear of Dunnikier Golf Course.

He turned a bend and collided with an off-road style motorbike being driven in the opposite direction.

The cyclist was knocked to the ground, suffering minor injuries, and the bicycle was damaged.

The driver of the motorcycle did not stop and officers are now appealing for information to help trace the owner.

The motorbike was mostly white in colour, with some red on it. The driver was wearing a helmet, which was also possibly white in colour.

PC Steven Black said: “We are determined to prosecute those involved in the illegal use of motorbikes and quads in public places.

“This incident is another example of the irresponsible and anti-social behaviour that can lead to personal injury and damage to property, and we continue to tackle this through Operation Fireblade.

“Anyone who saw the incident, or who has information that can help us to trace the person responsible, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
