City Link Probe

The reasons behind the collapse of City Link could soon become clearer as MPs meet at the House of Commons.

More than 2, 000 people, including 22 in Glenrothes and 75 in Glasgow, found out the company had gone into administration on Christmas Eve.

One week later, they received their final pay packet.

The Scottish Affairs Select Committee will meet today to take evidence from worker representatives and the RMT.

Ian Davidson MP, Chair of the Committee, said: "The collapse of City Link has resulted in redundancies across Scotland and 2356 jobs lost across the UK.

"There are many questions to be answered about the way all this has been handled by the firm's owners."

MPs met with City Link employees and sub-contractors in Glasgow yesterday to hear their views on what has happened and on what should now be done.
