Charities highlight 'humanitarian crisis' of poverty

A group of charities has launched a campaign to highlight what it calls the humanitarian crisis caused by poverty in Scotland.

Scotland's Outlook claims hundreds of thousands of people are being battered by welfare reforms, stagnant wages, rising utility bills and jobn insecurity. It says many families are turning to foodbanks to feed themselves - and it wants people across the country to join the fight against poverty. Martin Sime is chief executive of the Scottish Council of Voluntary Organisations. And he's telling us Scotland's outlook is bleak:
