Calls For Police Scotland To Reveal Survey Results

A Police Scotland staff survey was completed in June

There Is growing anger towardsPolice Scotland because the results of a staff survey are yet to be revealed.

Union bosses say they're disappointed the force is delaying the release, and that their members are growing increasingly angry. It Is thought the survey will give a true reflection of how officers feel about working in the single service.

UNISON Branch secretary George McIrvine said: "It was disappointing that the workforce had to wait two years before the employer finally agreed to conduct a staff survey without having to wait even longer for the findings."

"UNISON police branch worked with Police Scotland to shape the survey and ensure the feedback was relevant and accurate however there has been ‘radio silence’ from them for over 4 weeks. We have consistently asked that they present the findings as soon as possible"

Scottish Labour’s Justice Spokesperson Graeme Pearson, a former Deputy Chief Constable of Strathclyde Police and former Director General of the Scottish Crime & Drug Enforcement Agency, said:

"Unison are absolutely correct to call for this, and I have no doubt they are speaking for the vast majority of their members.

"The reality is that recent controversies surrounding Police Scotland have dragged the once world class reputation of policing in Scotland through the mud. Cuts to civilian staff numbers and budgets mean that officers and civilian staff are doing more with less. These issues can't be swept under the carpet.

"Staff and officers are under enormous pressure due to the decisions taken by SNP government ministers and senior management at Police Scotland. We need full transparency from the SNP Government and Police Scotland, they should publish this survey without delay."
