Bayoh Family To Meet Lord Advocate

Sheku Bayoh

Family members of Sheku Bayoh will meet Lord Advocate Frank Mulholland QC today as their quest for answers continues.

It's been four months since the father-of-two died in police custody in Kirkcaldy.

Mr Bayoh's partner Collette Bell, his sister Kadijartu Johnson, brother-in-law Adeyemi Johnson, mother-in-law Lorraine Bell and solicitor Aamer Anwar will meet with Mr Mulholland this afternoon in Edinburgh.

Mr Bayoh was walking along Hayfield Road in Kirkcaldy in the early hours of Sunday 3rd May when it's understood he was 'detained' by nine uniformed officers.

It's claimed CS spray, batons, pepper spray, and ankle and leg restraints were used.

The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner, who were instructed to investigate Mr Bayoh’s death, provided an interim report to the Lord Advocate on 7th August 2015.
