Attempts To Block Child Guardian Law

A campaign group is attempting to block controversial plans to appoint named guardians for Scots children.

The Scottish Government is proposing to appoint people such as teachers and health visitors to look out for children under the age of 18.

Members of No To Named Persons claim Scottish Government ministers have breached human rights legislation.

Ministers argue that the proposals are aimed at helping vulnerable children and families.

Campaigners have lodged papers against the move at the Court of Session.
