Assistance For Redundant Workers

A host of companies have approached Fife Council with vacancies just two days after Tullis Russell announced it had gone into administration.

£6 million has been put forward by the Scottish Government to help retrain the 325 people who lost their jobs on Monday.

The Fife paper mill has been forced to close due to falling profits.

A task force will meet tomorrow to discuss the next steps.

Deputy Fife Council leader Lesley Laird believes there are opportunities out there for redundant workers.
