Apprenticeship Week Starts

More than a hundred young apprenticeship places will be up for grabs at an Edinburgh-based firm.

Road maintenance company Amey's announcement comes as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week. The Scottish government wants 25,000 entry-level positions to be filled annually. BT is also looking for 1600 engineers throughout the UK - 160 in Scotland. Angela Constance, the Youth Employment Minister, says trainee schemes are benefitial for both workers and employers:
