A Facebook campaign to raise awareness of knife crime has attracted more than 4,000 followers.

No Knives in Fife was started following the death of 17-year-old Connor Cleave in Methilhill last month.

He was stabbed in the early hours of Tuesday 8th April and died a short while later in hospital.

A 22 year old man has appeared in court charged with his murder.

The page was set up by Amanda Scott, who said she felt it was important for the community to stand together to combat knife crime on the streets of Fife.

This morning the Scottish Government will announce more funding for a national no knives programme.

No Knives Better Lives was launched in 2009 and has so far worked with young people in 11 different local authority areas to challenge attitudes towards the weapons.
