Animal Welfare Concern Over Edinburgh Zoo Nights

Charity PETA are worried the upcoming events could be disruptive for animals.

Concerns have been raised about animal welfare at Edinburgh Zoo during night time events.

Charity PETA have written to bosses saying they think serving alcohol at the zoo could lead to problems.

It's after reports of drunken behaviour at a similar event at London Zoo where it's said someone tried to get into the penguin enclosure and a man tried to pour beer on a tiger.

PETA think the Edinburgh Zoo Nights events could also be disruptive to the sleep patterns of animals.

Edinburgh Zoo tell us alcohol is only sold in moderation and it isn't available near enclosures.

They also say the animals are monitored by keepers at all times and their events are different to those in London.
