Affordable Homes Plan For Dysart

Dysart, Fife

Residents of a Fife town are being asked for their thoughts on plans for new affordable housing.

A drop-in event today will allow people to comment on a proposal for 21 new-build flats on Quality Street in Dysart. The one and two bedroom properties would be let at mid-market rates through Ore Valley Initiatives.

Fife Council says it's committed to building 2, 700 new affordable homes by 2017. If progressed, this project may become part of the local authority's wider affordable housing programme to increase the number of homes for rent across Fife.

Rents for mid-market rent are affordable, lower than private market rent but higher than Council or Housing Association rents.

Anyone who isn't able to make it along to this event but wants to discuss the plans can email affordablehousing@fife.gov.uk or call Thomas Murphy on 03451 55 55 55 extension 442509. The plans will also be available to view online from 22nd July for those who cannot attend the event.
