A92 to be closed while £50,000 resurfacing work takes place in Glenrothes

Work to resurface the road on the A92 at the Tullis Russell Roundabout in Glenrothes starts tonight.

It will last for three nights, with the project being run between 7:30pm and 6:30am until completion this Thursday (5 March).

The A92 between the Preston Roundabout and Balfarg Junction will be closed to traffic while the project is being carried out.

There will be a signed diversion route between the Preston Roundabout Queensway, A991, then the B969 (Western Avenue), with traffic approaching from Markinch taking a diversion through the B9130, B921 to Bankhead Roundabout.

The work will cost £50,000.

Andy Thompson, representative for BEAR Scotland North East, said: "This £50,000 project has been designed to improve the general condition and safety of Tullis Russell Roundabout on the A92 for motorists.

"The road closure is essential to ensure the safety of road workers and motorists during the project, however we've taken steps to minimise disruption for road users as much as possible during the improvements by carrying out the work overnight.

"We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out this project on the A92.

"We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination."
