300 Year Celebrations For Fife Firm

the Auchtermuchty weighing company is celebrating 300 years in business

The oldest family business in Scotland is beginning it's 300th anniversary celebrations this weekend.

The year 1715 saw the first Jacobite rebellions, and the birth of composer Johann Bach. It was also the year John White started making weighing machines from a factory in Auchtermuchty. Today, they make electronic scales and weights for commercial, medical and trade use, from the same factory.

Their anniversary is in November, but celebrations begin this weekend with a reunion event at Auchtermuchty bowling club. They will culminate with an anniversary dinner for former and current staff and customers.
