£2 all day car parking charge could be introduced in Kirkcaldy town centre from next year

Kingdom FM has learned that a £2 all day car parking charge could be introduced at "identified car parks" in Kirkcaldy town centre from early next year.

The town's area committee is holding a meeting this afternoon to discuss a motion proposed by Kirkcaldy North councillor Neil Crooks outlining a range of potential actions to improve car parking in the town centre, alongside other transport improvements.

Car parking charges at both Coal Wynd car parks could also be abolished to create more opportunity for affordable free parking.

Other proposed actions include making all vehicles entering the High Street exiting through Tolbooth Street to stop drivers using the whole of the former street as a thoroughfare and to allow firms to use the outdoor space for commercial purposes like outdoor catering.
