13,000 More Scots Now Eligible For Job Fund

Around 13,000 more Scots are now eligible for an employment programme after its age limit was extended to 30.

The Youth Employment Scotland Fund, administered by local authorities, will now be accessible to employers seeking to recruit those aged 25 to 30 to boost both employability and business growth.

It's hoped that members of vulnerable groups, including care leavers, will particularly benefit from the increase.

Councillor Douglas Chapman is the COSLA Education, Children and Young People Spokesperson.

He says it's good news for both young people and the Scottish economy
