Wassailing is an ancient custom that involves drinking cider (or apple juice), singing to the trees in the hope of a good harvest and scaring away any evil spirits that might be lurking by making loud noises. You can tour the orchard, sing around the trees, hear stories, sit by the fire and sample the cider made from last year’s crop.

We’ll hear traditional stories of wassailing, learn some songs to sing to the trees and listen to poems written about apple trees. Bring along your musical instruments (especially drums) so we can make lots of noise and have fun.

We’ll have mulled cider and apple juice and cakes made with apples from our orchard.
