Venue
The Ecology Centre, Kinghorn, KY3 9YG
Price

A celebration of Scotlands Folklore, heritage, and folktales through the lens of midsummer. To help raise funds for the Woven Land Network - Conserving Scotlands Community Heritage.

We hope that you can come along to this event with the option to camp overnight for those who wish to say into the wee hours.

Our day starts at 1pm and finishes at 10pm and there are a range of things happening for all ages throughout the day

We have foraging walks being provided by the ever skilful Forgarium,
Herbal Remedy making workshops with the lovely Woven Land Network Members,
Midsummer wreath making and other traditional crafts from a range of gifted crafters including drop single spinning, Viking Nail knitting, loop braiding and much more ...
Throughout the day you will be able to hear from gifted story tellers some of the rich and amazing tales of Scotland's lore.

We also have a variety of speakers throughout the day:
The Cailleachs Herbarium will be talking about midsummer folk magic.
Ash Mills from Scottish Cunning Ways will be talking us through the significance of our intangible and tangible scottish heritage.
The incredibly talented Jannica Honey will be talking about creativity and the human body expressed in photography and her project "Where the Blackbird Sings"
with more still to be confirmed!

At 6pm we welcome you all to the raise a glass with us for the official launch of The Woven Land Network and a short presentation from its members.

This will be followed by a seasonal and wild foraged dinner included in the ticket price.

Once we have eaten our fill, the Midsummer fires will be lit and we will dance away in to the small hours with the amazing Alan Crookston Ceilidh Band, and fire dancers outside.

For those who wish a more "sit down focused" activity we will be showing ROOTS IN THE HEART (2015). This film is musician Jimmy Trash's journey through South Eastern Europe to learn, experience and make sense of ancient European customs of healing, blessing and seeing.

Finally as the sun sets and before we head home we will cast our wreaths for wishes into the setting sun.

Camping is available for those who wish to stay over night and carry on the conversations for a small donation. We must leave the centre no later than 10am the following Sunday.

Please do contact us if you are on low or minimal income as we can sort out cheaper tickets for you.
