Explore the Magical Trail at the Falkland Centre for Stewardship this Spring.
From Saturday 22 Feb until Sun 19 April, visitors to Falkland estate and the Centre for Stewardship will be able to follow a ‘Magical Trail’ in the woods near the historic Stables building.
Groups of secondary school pupils from Levenmouth Academy, Balwearie High School and Auchmuty High School have been working with a team of local artists since last Autumn, to create a series of ‘magical habitats’ for imagined woodland creatures.
Visitors can pick up a map from the Centre’s Hub café and follow the circular Trail, keeping an eye out for willow structures and fairy doors along the way. There is also an indoor display at the Centre’s newly refurbished gallery space, featuring photographic etchings of magical creatures, also produced by the school pupils. The cafe and gallery is open from 10:00 until 16:00 daily and the trail can be accessed at any time.
The project has been funded by the CashBack for Creativity Open Fund, which supports outdoor creative learning opportunities for young people.
