Are you hard-of-hearing or deafened?
Do you find it difficult to hear if it is noisy?
Do people seem to mumble?
Do you struggle to hear the TV or radio?

If the answer to any of these questions is 'yes' then read on....

Lipreading classes can help people of all ages, with any degree of hearing loss, to communicate better. Lipreading classes can help to improve your confidence and are a great way to do something positive and practical about your hearing loss.

What’s covered on the course?
This free 2 years' (30 weeks a year) course aims to help you to gain knowledge and skills to help you to manage your hearing loss better and to be able to participate more in everyday life and social activities. You will have the opportunity to develop your lipreading skills through practise, learn useful communication tactics, eg the best place to position yourself in a group. You’ll also receive useful information about services, equipment and support available to help.

What are lipreading classes like?
Classes are relaxed, friendly and fun! Classes are taught by a qualified teacher of lipreading to adults. Your tutor will encourage you to have a laugh & relax. You’ll meet others with a hearing loss and share experiences and coping strategies with others who understand. Class activities will include games & quizzes that will help you to develop your skills in a fun way.

Come and practise using your eyes to help your ears!
