Continuing its five-star Edinburgh Festival Fringe show on tour across Scotland, Echoes celebrates the triumphs and histories of the nation’s Superwomen of Science through a blend of music, song, performance and spoken word.

Featuring contemporary Scottish singer and composer Frances M Lynch, and Margaret Cameron (BBC Singers), the show has been entertaining audiences across Scotland as it tours the country, engaging with local communities along the way.

Echoes fae Fife has been specially created in collaboration with astronomers and physicists from the University of St Andrews’ SHINE project, Kirkcaldy Orchestral Society, and Viewforth High and Aberdour Primary Schools. The Scottish “Superwomen” featured include Burntisland’s own “Queen of the sciences” Mary Somerville and Largo’s intrepid ornithologists Evelyn Baxter and Leonora Rintoul.

Created by electric voice theatre, Echoes is a Minerva Scientifica project aiming to bring together professional performers with community musicians and school children, to raise awareness of the rich heritage and deep connections between Scottish music and science, and to inspire the next generation of future scientists.

Each performance will be British Sign Language Interpreted and has Integrated Audio Description and a Touch Tour.
