Kingdom FM News is joining local and national charities and campaigners in launching a petition to help end elder abuse in Scotland.
Ministers at Holyrood are being asked to consider harsher punishments for those who take advantage of the elderly because of their age.
Elder abuse can come in many forms including an older person being targeted in the street because of their age.
There are also cases of family members taking advantage of the loneliness of their elderly parent by taking money from them or leading them into transactions they do not understand.
Older people sometimes do not feel they can speak up about these problems.
Lesley Carcary from Fife-based charity Action on Elder Abuse Scotland is urging everyone in the Kingdom to sign the petition:
