Police identify girl, 3, who died in Fife collision

Police have confirmed the identity of a girl who died after being hit by a car in Townhill, near Dunfermline.

Three-year-old Robyn Knox, from Cardenden, died at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

The collision happened on Main Street in Townhill at around 10.10am yesterday.

Sergeant Stephen Quinn, of road policing east, said: "Our thoughts remain with the family of Robyn at this extremely difficult time. 

"I wish to send my thanks to the emergency service crews and members of the public who assisted at the scene. 

"I would also like to reiterate my request that the privacy of the family is respected during this time."
