Police hunt occupants of a red transit van following "brazen" theft

A Ifor Williams trailer and it's contents were taken from an industrial estate in Glenrothes.

Officer's investigating the theft are asking for the public help.

The occupants for a red transit van hooked a trailer which had two industrial lawnmowers in to their vehicle and drove off.

The incident happened at the industrial estate in Woodgate Way North at 2.10pm on Thursday the 15th of August.

Police investigating say inquiries to trace the van and those inside it are continuing. 

Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses following a theft in Glenrothes.

Detective Constable Fraser Simpson from Glenrothes CID said: "This was a brazen theft in broad daylight and we would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to contact police immediately.

"It is likely that those responsible will look to sell on the stolen mowers and so anyone who is offered such items should decline and report the sellers to us.

"Anyone who believes they have any information that can assist our ongoing inquiries should also get in touch."

Those with information can contact Glenrothes CID via 101 and quote incident number 2396 of the 15th August. Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
