Police appeal over serious crash in west Fife

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a teenager was left in a critical condition following a crash in west Fife.

It happened on the A985 at the junction with Clinkum Bank at around 9.30pm on Friday.

Officers say the collision involved a Ford Ka and a Ford Fiesta, and the 18-year-old male passenger of the Ford Ka was taken to the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh for treatment to a serious head injury.

Other occupants of the Ford Ka have been treated at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

Sergeant Stephen Quinn from Fife's Road Policing Unit said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or captured it with dashcam footage to come forward.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland quoting incident 4296 of Friday 13 September 2019.

"The road was closed for a few hours to allow crash investigations to be carried out and I would like to thank everyone affected by the road closure for their patience."
