More than £20,000 worth of items stolen from a Fife golf club

Thieves have stolen items worth an estimate of more than £20,000 from a Fife golf club.

Police believe the break in happened sometime between 8pm on Wednesday and 6am yesterday at Dumbarnie Links Golf Club near Upper Largo in the East Neuk.

Officers say a vehicle was used to gain a forced entry through the gates and into the buildings.

Golf clubs, alcohol, clothing and food were stolen.

CCTV footage is being checked for any information which could help police with its investigation.

Sergeant Matt Spencer from Police Scotland said: "A significant amount of effort went into gaining entry to this site.

"I appreciate the time frame is quite long, but I would appeal to members of the public and motorists to think back and consider if they noticed anything unusual.

"If anyone has dash cams and was in the area between the hours mentioned, please check your footage as it may have captured images which could assist our enquiries.

"Similarly, if you are approached and offered golf equipment at a price which seems too good to be true, please contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 475 of 17 September 2020.
