A man has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Dunfermline yesterday evening.
The incident happened on Halbeath Road near Fife College with emergency services rushing to the scene just before 5:30pm.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is being treated.
His condition is being described as serious but not life-threatening.
A black Hyundai Tucson was involved in the incident which caused the road to shut to allow for investigators to carry out their work at the scene.
The vehicle was travelling westbound when the incident happened.
The 70 year old male driver of the car and a 69 year old female passenger were not hurt.
