Man in court after Methil standoff

A man is due in court after armed police were sent to a property in Methil last night.

Officers were sent to a disturbance on Mallard Road at around 9pm, along with an ambulance.

The incident was resolved peacefully, but a 26 year old man has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Fife responded to an address in Mallard Road, Methil at around 8.45 p.m. on Thursday 16th November following reports of a male in possession of a weapon.
"A 26-year-old man was subsequently charged in connection with this incident and will appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Friday 17th November."
