Man charged over attempted murder in Methil

A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged by police over an attempted murder in Methil yesterday.

The incident happened at around 5:15pm when officers were flagged down on Methil Brae in the town.

It was because a 42-year-old man lay outside a property with stab wounds to his leg.

The victim is in a critical but stable condition at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Meanwhile, the man charged is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Police Scotland Detective Inspector Chris Mill from Levenmouth CID said: "Officers reacted quickly to the situation and following an investigation led by detectives alongside local uniformed officers and engagement from the community, we were able to arrest and charge a man in connection with this incident."
