Man charged after homes were broken into in St Andrews

A 35-year-old man has been charged by police after a number of housebreakings in St Andrews.

Officers say four homes were broken into on Tuesday March 3 this year.

A large amount of jewellery and other valuables were stolen.

The incidents happened on Berry Place, Learmonth Place, Crawford Gardens and Priory Gardens.

The man is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.

Detective Constable Alan Shovlin, from Levenmouth CID, said: "We are delighted that our inquiry has led to an arrest however there is still a considerable amount of valuables, including jewellery and commemorative coins outstanding.

"I would urge anyone who may have information about the location of the outstanding property or who has been offered commemorative coins/ unique jewellery for sale to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3572 of 4 March."
