A man has appeared in court after the rape of an 83-year-old woman in Glenrothes.
Kyle McKenzie, 21, whose general address was given as Glenrothes, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court today.
He faces charges of rape and theft by housebreaking.
He made no plea and the case was committed for further examination.
McKenzie was granted bail by a sheriff but has been remanded in custody pending an appeal of that decision.
