LISTEN: Better facilities will prevent camping rubbish, says East Neuk councillor

There needs to be better facilities for people choosing to camp overnight in Fife.

That is according to East Neuk and Landward councillor, Bill Porteous.

Speaking to Kingdom FM News, he said campers are abusing their ability to stay overnight for free in Fife, by dumping their rubbish and not cleaning up after themselves:

Most car parks in the region do not have by-laws preventing overnight parking, which means campers can stay there without being moved on.

But Councillor Porteous is not sure introducing restrictions is the way forward:

Fife Coast and Countryside Trust has encouraged those camping overnight to consider alternative venues.
