Investigations underway after Coaltown house fire

Fire crews battled the blaze this morning

A woman has been treated at the scene of a house fire this morning in Coaltown of Balgonie.

She was checked over by paramedics after four fire crews were called to the property on Main Street just before 10.30am.

The blaze was in the roof of a bungalow, which has caved in.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "The SFRS was alerted at 10.28am on Wednesday, July 11 to reports of a dwelling fire in Coaltown of Balgonie.

"Operations Control mobilised four fire engines to Main Street, where a fire had taken hold within the roof space of a single-storey property.

"One female was passed into the care of  Scottish Ambulance Service personnel for a precautionary check.

"Crews remain at the scene."
