Golf's 150th Open in St Andrews pushed back to 2022

Golf's 150th Open Championship will not take place at St Andrews next year, because this year's tournament in Kent has been cancelled as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

The tournament at the Home of Golf will now take place on the 10-17 July 2022.

Meanwhile, this year's cancelled event has been pushed back to 11-18 July 2021 and is expected to take place at Royal St George's in Kent.

It's the first time since World War II the prestigious tournament has been called off.

The decision was made by the R&A and it said the move was necessary based on guidance from its advisers, the UK Government, health authorities and public services.
