Tragedy off Fife coast as kite surfer pronounced dead at Largo Bay

The man was pronounced dead when emergency services arrived at Shell Bay

 Police have confirmed a 42-year-old man has died after kite surfing off the Fife coast. 

Emergency services- including fire, ambulance and lifeboat crews from Leven, Kinghorn and Anstruther RNLI- were called to Largo Bay, near Elie, at around 12:10pm on Wednesday.

It has since emerged the man died at the scene. 

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland confirm a 42-year-old mam has died while kite surfing near Leven.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin are aware.

“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
