New traffic regulations are to be rolled out ahead of roadworks at the waterfront in Kirkcaldy.
Revamped road layouts come into effect between the Tolbooth Street and High Street junctions- but the council has not disclosed when that may be.
Meanwhile, The Esplanade will be reduced to a single, two-way road.
The work's expected to be complete by summer 2020.
Councillor Neil Crooks, Convener of the Kirkcaldy Area Committee, said: “The recommendations agreed by councillors is the next milestone for an exciting project that is set to deliver a better-connected waterfront and High Street.
"This venture is about better connecting our waterfront with the High Street but it’s also delivering on part of a much bigger framework to make our town centre more vibrant.”
