Sheku Bayoh, 31, died in an incident involving nine police officers and two CID.

A policewoman was injured in the fracas.

It has taken at least five weeks for those involved to make themselves available to give evidence to PIRC.

This week, Justice Secretary Michael Matheson affirmed that PIRC has "sufficient" powers to deal with a case this large, but that police officers do not legally have to provide evidence if it can lead to criminal charges against them.
