Fears Over Famous Foods

It's being claimed that famous Scottish foods, like Arbroath Smokies and Stornoway Black Pudding, could be under threat from a new trade deal.

Germany's Agriculture Minister says a planned agreement between the EU and US would hit products with special regional protection as cheaper imitations could flood the market. 

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership is currently being negotiated. 

Scottish Tory MEP, Ian Duncan, has written to the European Trade Commissioner urging him to make sure regional protection is maintained:
