Reckless bankers who are guilty of serious misconduct should be jailed. That's one proposal in a parliamentary review of the banking sector. It also suggests a new professional code of conduct and allowing the regulator to defer bonuses for 10 years - to ensure the long-term health of a bank is always considered.

Wind farm developments are 'out of control and unjustified' according to the Scottish Wild Land Group.
It's calling for an Energy Commission to be set up to launch an urgent investigation into the impact of turbines. In 2012, Fife Council called for a temporary halt on wind farm applications following a deluge of inappropriate bids.

A new label aims to show us, at a glance, just how healthy the food we buy in our shops is. The system has the backing of all the major supermarkets and many of the big food manufacturers. Until now, businesses had different labels on products to explain the nutritional value of meals and drinks - but it can be confusing.

Tackling wider inequalities in society could lead to a fall in teenage pregnancies. That's the conclusion of the group of MSPs. Holyrood's Health and Sport Committee has spent the last six months investigating the issue of pregnancy among the under 16s. Convener Duncan McNeill says sex education and contraception must be young people 'friendly'.

The preferred bidder for Dunfermline Football Club is expected to be named today. Creditors, East End Park Limited, will hold a meeting later. Two bidders, including supporters group Pars United, have come forward to lodge an offer.

The SNP says its successes in Fife are guiding its strategy for next year's independence referendum.
Scotland will go to the polls in September 2014 to decide whether to break away from the UK. Nationalist leader Alex Salmond says massive gains in the Kingdom at the 2011 Holyrood election mean voters here could lead the way for the yes campaign. And the first minister says they learned a lot from those results.

Pars United will today make a formal bid to buy Dunfermline Athletic and East End Park. Bids for the club close today. The fans' group confirmed it's bid yesterday evening, but didn't say how much it was worth. Pars Supporters' Trust says there's still a lot of work to be done.

Hearts will start next season with a 15-point penalty in the SPL after announcing their plan to go into administration. The club has debts of £25 million. They also need £500,000 to see them through to the start of the next campaign, and put their entire playing staff up for sale last week.

Thousands of soldiers will find out this morning if they're being made redundant. In the latest round of defence cuts, up to 5300 will be handed redundancy notices. The Ministry of Defence insists operational capability won't be affected.

Scotland's Citizens Advice Bureaux have had over 700 enquiries about the so-called bedroom tax since it was introduced on the first of April. And CAS Scotland will detail a number of examples to MPs on the Scottish Affairs Committee. The charity's policy manager Keith Dryburgh will give evidence to MPs this afternoon.
